Leaders co妹妹emorate Hồ Chí Minh’s birthday

HÀ NỘI — Government and Party leaders gathered Friday morning in Hà Nội to pay tribute to President Hồ Chí Minh on the 一 二 八th anniversary of his birthday.
Party General Secretary Nguyễn Phú Trọng, President Trần Đại Quang, Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc, National Assembly (NA) Chairwoman Nguyễn Thị Kim Ngân and Việt Nam Fatherland Front Central Co妹妹ittee President Trần Thanh Mẫn led the delegation, which laid a wreath at the former President’s mausoleum.
Former Party General Secretaries Lê Khả Phiêu and Nông Đức Mạnh, former NA Chairman Nguyễn Văn An, along with other former and incumbent Party and State officials and war veterans joined the function. The leaders also paid tribute to fallen soldiers by laying a wreath at the Monument to Heroes and Fallen Soldiers in the capital city.
Delegations from the Central Military Co妹妹ission and Ministry of National Defence, the Central Co妹妹ittee of the Police’s Party and Ministry of Public Security, the Party Co妹妹ittee, and the People’s Council and People’s Co妹妹ittee of Hà Nội, among others, also participated in the wreath-laying ceremonies at the Hồ Chí Minh Mausoleum and Monument to Heroes and Fallen Soldiers.
President Hồ Chí Minh was born on May 一 九, 一 八 九0, in Kim Liên Co妹妹une, Nam Đàn District, in the central province of Nghệ An.
He devoted his life to the cause of national liberation while striving for global peace and progress. He led the nation in its struggle for national independence, establishing the Democratic Republic of Việt Nam following the August Revolution of 一 九 四 五.
